With the Trek just a few months away, we realize that in order to maximize the experience the whole stake needs to be involved in ensuring the Lord's spirit is in this activity. An important part of that is making sure we demonstrate our commitment to living as our prophets have asked us to live, just as the pioneers were following the prophet's request to gather. One such effort is a challenge to the entire stake to have daily personal prayers and daily scripture study for 118 days leading up to the Trek. Hopefully this pattern already exists in our lives, but if not, we request your dedication in making sure we all engage in this perfect period of daily connecting with the spirit. The 118 days is the amount of time it took the Willie Handcart to travel from Iowa City to Salt Lake. 118 days prior to our leaving on Trek is March 30th. So please join us on March 30th until trek on July 25th to committ to have daily personal prayers and scripture study. We hope you will continue this habit long after trek is over!! We testify that the Lord's spirit will attend us in greater measure as we obey his counsel and connect with Him each day.
