Equipment Lists and Forms
Fellow Trekkers,
This is the final packing list for our upcoming trek! You can click on the left icon and it will enlarge and you can print it off. Make sure you start early to get everything on your list - there are 600 other people needing to get the same things!
EVERYONE
*Pioneer Clothes (see attached page)
*One set of sleeping clothes--T-shirt and pants
*Clean changes of underclothing
*2 pairs of athletic, well-fitting crew style socks (a comfortable fit with your shoes is important)
*2 pair of moisture wicking socks for the two full days of trekking. All-cotton socks can absorb moisture and remain wet causing problems. Look for quality hiking socks that wick moisture away.
*2 pair of thin liner socks are highly recommended to help reduce the friction that causes blisters. These will be worn beneath your socks on the two trekking days. (Nylon knee-highs do a great job.)
*Comfortable, well-broken in wide-based walking shoes. They need to be closed toed and heeled. Shoes need not be pioneer-style. Comfort is most important.
*Utensils to eat with and a plate you can wash. A mess kit would be great!
*Anti-chaffing glide - this really is needed (ask anyone who went on trek in 2007!!) Check out the medical tab which will give you more details!
BREAK IN SHOES BEFORE TREK! These should be shoes you wear often to help avoid blisters. Hiking shoes, boots, or athletic shoes are recommended. Athletic shoes should have a sturdy sole. No stacked heeled shoes. (If there's no room in your bucket for shoes, they can be stored in the FAMILY DUFFEL BAG.)
*Hand towel and/or washcloth and small bar of soap
*Toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste
*Lip protectant with sunscreen
*Personal medications, if needed
*Personal toiletries (small travel-sized shampoo, deodorant, etc.)
