Inspiration

"Our path may not be pulling a handcart, but whatever our trials are , it will demand faith in every footstep. We will be pioneers for those who come after us. Your courage and faith will show them the way."
Bonnie D. Parkin

"As we feel of that pioneer spirit and come to know and understand our past, we will gain strength for the future."
Mary Ellen Smoot

Trek Vision:

Help our youth develop greater love for, and faith in the Savior, by remembering Him, serving others, and sacrificing personal desires, in order to follow Him.

They will do this by:

· Realizing that, with the help of Heavenly Father, and through the atonement of Jesus Christ, they can stand strong and do hard things, like the pioneers did.

· Learning to selflessly serve, love and respect each other, and to lift and strengthen those in need.

· Increasing personal testimony by seeking after, recognizing and following divine revelation.

· Recognizing that the difficulties endured by the pioneers were possible because of their faith in the Savior and his gospel.

· Developing more gratitude for the sacrifice made by faithful pioneers and gratitude for the atoning sacrifice of the Savior.

· Developing an obedient heart and recognizing that blessings come through obedience to the Lord and His servants.

· Gaining strength to meet current challenges by drawing on lessons taught by our ancestor’s experiences and the legacy of the handcart pioneers.
