Highland UT South Stake 2011 Q and A

Here are some starter questions and answers: Please feel free to submit other questions. If they are appropriate for the entire group, they will be answered on this blog.
Q. How much will trek cost?
A. The cost is $150 per participant, youth or adult. The stake will contribute $50 for each youth. The additional $100 will need to be paid by the ward and individual. Individual contributions will be paid to the ward “other account” and the ward will write a single check to the stake for the youth and adults participating, from their ward.
Q. What can I wear on trek?
A. All participants will be expected to dress in character for the entire time of the activity. This means that those attending trek will come to the church on Monday July 25th in “pioneer” attire, and stay properly dressed until they return home on Thursday.
Girl’s “Pioneer” dress includes ankle length dresses or skirts and long sleeved blouses for the girls with bloomers underneath, with a pin on or tied apron. Bloomers can include such things as medical scrubs or ankle length pajama bottoms. Bonnets or brimmed straw hats are also appropriate and very necessary for girls. Comfortable and broken in shoes or boots with sturdy socks are very necessary.
Boys will be expected to wear wool or cotton pants (no jeans allowed) and long sleeve shirts. Knit shirts and t-shirts are not appropriate. Khaki or Chino pants are cool and work well. Boys also need comfortable shoes or boots. Hats are desirable to protect from sun and rain. Wide brimmed hats are usually best, but baseball or golf style hats are not allowed. It is windy in Wyoming so a string or cinch that can be tied under the chin is helpful.
Weather can change rapidly so be prepared for foul weather with a good raincoat or poncho and a jacket.
No shorts or t-shirts allowed for either young men or young women.
Pioneer clothing patterns and links will be posted on this blog.
Q. When is trek?
A. Busses will leave the Stake Center at 6:00AM on July 25th, 2011 and return at approximately 6:00PM on July 28th. Youth need to be at the Stake Center at 5:30AM on the 25th.
